Wudangzhao Monastery
Wudangzhao (wǔ dāng zhào 五当召) Monastery is situated 70 kilometers (approx. 43 miles) northeast of Baotou (bāo tóu 包头), near a valley named Wudang Gou (wǔ dāng gōu 五当沟). It’s a large Tibetan Buddhist monastery. It is the biggest and the best preserved lama monastery in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (nèi měng gǔ zì zhì qū 内蒙古自治区). 'Bada Gele Monastery' is its Tibetan name, meaning white lotus. 'Wudangzhao' in Mongolian means 'willow', because willows are prosperous in the valley.

It is the imperial palace of the Ming dynasty’s emperors of three generations in succession, Hong Wu (hóng wǔ 洪武), Jian Wen (jiàn wén 建文) and Yong Le (yǒng lè 永乐). The majestic Ming Dynasty Imperial Palace, which was once regarded as a blueprint for the Forbidden City (gù gōng 故宫) in Beijing, is composed of the Imperial City (huáng chéng 皇城) and the Palace City (gōng chéng 宫城).

Alcohol


Beer is served everywhere. Don’t be surprised when you find minors are drinking. Because it’s not prohibited in China.
If you want cold beer,  be sure you mentioned it to the waitor or waitress.


“Bai jiu” (白酒) tastes like vodka. Be sure not to sniff it before you drink or you might gag. It is made from fermented rice. It tastes pungent. Half of a glass can possible get you drank, if your capacity for liquor is not that well.
Cold drinks are not usually served at restaurants in China. 98% of the time you will have a cup of steaming hot tea. Sometimes people will order a 2-liter of soda, but it us room temperature.

Wine is not as popular in China as it is in the west.
